Point of view(omniscient): This story was told by Kokum who was studied at residential school and she is a survivor in this school, but it has many conversation of all character in this story.

Flashback in the story: when Betsy started to tell her story for Daniel and April about the her poor childhood. She started with the sentence « I was very young, about the age of five », then while she was telling about her story, she stayed « Looking back, I do not know what hurt more ».
Recently, we learned about a short story that is « The sea devil » in the « Inside story ». The story said about a conflict of a man with a sea devil and a man with himself. After all happened the main character changed at the end of the story.
After reading the story, I realized that in daily life. There are also many conflicts, then it makes us change something that can be behaviours or attitudes with different issues.
I also had a conflict with my friends about 3 years ago. Me and that person are very close, and she is my best friend. Once when she and I disagreed about a small problem in learning and life, we argued very seriously. After that, she and I thought we could not return to our original friendship anymore. However, when we thought back on those reasons and about our friendship. Me and her gradually changed our views and our relationship has returned to normal. Since then I have found that after every conflict we become more mature in our way of thinking and acting. Moreover it can help you and your friendship become more connected, understand each other and respect each other more.
